The videos and different sites we looked at before were also beneficial. By looking at the photos people took of themselves it helped add more to the average "selfie". I feel I really progressed by watching people in videos take me through the drawings step-by-step. I really loved this unit and it has really enhanced my portrait skills.
I really enjoyed portraits this year. Before I was never really find of drawing people because I wasn't good at it. I love that I got to learn new tips and tricks to facial features. All the individual challenges we had really benefited me.

I really enjoyed this unit. It was challenging but fun. If you don't have limitations you can become overwhelmed by all your decisions. When you give yourself limitations you can have an easier time deciding what to create.
As I did this unit I found myself really thinking outside the box. It was super fun to come up with cool spins to fulfill the limitations. I liked the limitations we chose and the way we came up with them. I don't know how well I like this project but it was fun to create. I have learned a lot about perspective in this unit. I learned that it looks a lot better when you use a ruler. I like perspective drawing because it looks nice. It is very precise and lines up and is a very clean type of drawing. It is kind of tedious to constantly move the ruler across the paper to make the lines.
There are many different types of perspective drawing. I love that you can make it as interesting or as simple as you would like. I think I will definitely use this in the future. You can add color or use paint or whatever you want. I think it would be neat to do like a bunch of zoo cages and people at a zoo in 1 point perspective. If you did a bunch of hot air balloons in 2 point perspective and add lots of color that would look really cool. I really like this kind of drawing. I learned from t he videos that stealing and copying are different. If you steal ideas you put your own spin on it. Parody, intertextuality, and appropriation are all very similar words that have to do with stealing artwork. Parodies are more comedic. That is the one I used to create my piece. I just thought of famous sayings and I thought of the bees knees so that is what I chose for my project. I drew a half bee half person and finished it off with colored pencil. This unit changed my thoughts. I thought that copying artwork was bad. But is can be ok and original if you steal like an artist. When you use a color scheme you realize how many different colors you really use in your artwork. I struggled at first with finding something to draw that fit into a color scheme. Especially the color scheme I chose. I think I might use color schemes in the future. They really add to your artwork and make you think. On the other hand, I like to use all kinds of colors to make the picture pop. I learned that there are many color schemes. Depending on what color scheme you chose depends on what kind of look your final piece will have.
1. I learned that there are many techniques you can use to give your paint a different effect. Also Mixing paint is easier than mixing pastels and colored pencils.
2. I think the most important thing I learned is that it can be used to portray lots of objects. You can use it for detailed pieces or not detailed objects. 3. I think this knowledge can help me in future pieces and in upper art levels with journal pages and such.
My idea is to do the beach but to experiment more warm and cool colors. I also want to try to convey the true beauty of the beach. So far I struggle adding my own insight to it. I am going to finish it off by adding color to it.
